Child II portrays Rosalia Sri Yanie Murbaningsih, Trubus Soedarsono's third daughter. Shown in profile and rendered in warm brown tones, the portrait presents the child with quiet simplicity while revealing Trubus's remarkable sensitivity to individual character.

 

More than a record of physical likeness, Trubus employs his mastery of anatomy, light, and the delicate texture of skin to create a vivid human presence. Through careful observation and subtle brushwork, he demonstrates that portraiture is not merely a study of form, but also an expression of affection, personality, and shared humanity. The painting entered the Museum of Fine Arts collection through a donation by Adam Malik in 1976.
